New in town: Teo Seng Minced Meat Noodle — Traditional bak chor mee & comforting wanton soup at Redhill

Teo Seng Minced Meat Noodles will catch your eye from afar. Decked in a bright blue header, its almost-neon store header is an attention grabber.

Their opening has perks aplenty. Aside from the yummy fact that they offer bak chor mee, they’re also located at Redhill— a central location for all! Specifically located at Redhill Market and Food Centre, they add to the number of delicious old-school fare available there.

Teo Seng Minced Meat Noodles is freshly new to the area, having been around for about a month since its official opening in Mar 2023. Even a Member of Parliament, Melvin Yong, has visited his store!

In a Facebook post, the owner, Mr Ng, shared with MP Melvin Yong that he started out “more than 30 years ago selling Teochew porridge in Geylang” before taking the leap to specialise in minced meat noodles.

What you’ll receive over here is a comforting bowl of Minced Meat Noodles (S$5). To me, nothing gets better than a good bowl of bak chor mee— springy egg noodles, quality minced meat doused in a savoury concoction of sauce, and spoonfuls of juicy succulent mushrooms.

Of course, like every bak chor mee store, the fishball option is available for order as well. Teo Seng Minced Meat Noodle also offers Minced Meat Noodle (Soup) at S$4, which would perfect for any rainy day.

Dig into scrumptious springy yellow noodles that are tossed in vinegar and minced meat. There’s no wonder why this dish is popular amongst Singaporeans and hawkers because of how addictive its taste can be. The best scenario is when the hawker sprinkles a large handful of spring onions and coriander on top, which makes the meal all the more refreshing.

Alternatively, at Teo Seng Minced Meat Noodle, you can enjoy variations of meatball and wanton too. Order either the Wanton Soup (S$5) or Meatball Soup (S$5), or get a combination of both for the best of both worlds at S$5.

Teo Seng Minced Meat Noodle, you are very welcome to (my) hood!
