New in town: Picnic @ Greenwich V — Beach-themed food court opens in Seletar with over 10 food stalls

The recent unpredictable showery weather has made going to the beach a damp risk. However, you can get the essence of it at Picnic @ Greenwich V, a beach-themed food court that recently opened on 1 Dec 2022 along 1 Seletar Road.

Adorned all over Picnic @ Greenwich V are convincing-looking palm trees complete with coconuts. Stalls are also “sheltered” by dried palm leaves, just like a beach bar, and the whole place is lit up by light bulbs in rattan baskets hanging on the ceiling. There are also paintings of beaches along the walls, further selling the sandy illusion.

Picnic @ Greenwich V Old Shifu Charcoal Porridge - Porridge

Its food options are as stellar as its design, with options ranging from Western food to Old Shifu Charcoal Porridge. Old Shifu Charcoal Porridge serves nostalgic Cantonese zhou and is an independent venture of former Ah Chiang’s Porridge owner, Cher Kee Chiang. Enjoy items such as the Mixed Pork Porridge (S$5.50) and Fish Head Porridge (S$8) at Old Shifu Charcoal Porridge.

Picnic @ Greenwich V Curry Boy - Curry Chicken Katsu

Next is Curry Boy, who offers Japanese and Singapore fusion curry rice. Their Signature XL Pork Panko Curry Rice (S$8.90) is said to be a hit amongst teenagers and families. It consists of a large crusty piece of pork katsu immersed with rich local curry, a sunny-side-up egg and crunchy salad.

Picnic @ Greenwich V 潶志麵家 Orh-Kee Noodles - Hotate Scallop Noodles

Another recognisable stall is 潶志麵家 Orh-Kee Noodles, which specialises in Teochew-style Traditional Fishball Noodles (S$6.50) as well as their signature Hotate Scallop Noodles (S$8.80). If you prefer something meaty, you can opt for the Orh Kee Signature Minced Meat Mee Sua (S$10.80).

Other stalls in Picnic @ Greenwich V that you may know include Tanjong Rhu Wanton Noodle, Kam’s Roast and Xiao Mu Deng. Next time you’re going to this beach, leave the sunscreens at home!
