New in town: Jyu Gae Bistro – Serving Taiwanese dishes with live band performances at Bras Basah

I’m pretty stoked that Singapore’s food scene has become so diverse that we need not travel overseas just to satisfy our cravings. If you adore Taiwanese food, you should definitely check out Jyu Gae Bistro nestled within Lazada One, which opened for business on 17 Dec 2022.

Jyu Gae Bistro specialises on its unique blend of Taiwanese flavours and wants to create a homely dining atmosphere for every customer who walks through their doorstep.

If you’re a fan of Taiwanese breakfast food, you’ll definitely enjoy their breakfast/brunch offerings which take place daily from 10.30am to 8.30pm— yes, you can even have it for dinner!

Some of the items include Taiwanese Pork Floss Egg Crepe (S$8.90) and Taiwanese Pork Patty with Cheese & Egg Milk Toast (S$9.90).

Jyu Gae Signature 3 Bowls Set (S$16.90) lets you savour 3 famous Taiwan street foods at one go. It consists of braised pork rice, oyster mee sua, and salt & pepper popcorn chicken (choice of original/spicy/mala).

If you love a quirky rendition of our local popiah which has ice cream, coriander and peanuts, the Taiwanese Ice Cream Popiah (S$8.90) will definitely hit the spot. It comes with 2 scoops of ice cream (muah chee/taro yam/coconut).

The Taiwanese Braised Beef Noodle Soup (S$14.90), one of the country’s iconic dishes, features sliced tender braised beef on a bed of chewy noodles served in a rich and hearty broth.

Jyu Gae Bistro offers 14 types of grilled skewers like seafood tempura (S$3), cheese tofu (S$3) and beef teriyaki (S$3). You can also find various snack items, rice sets, hotplate sizzling noodles, and an assortment of spirits, booze and Taiwan beer.

What’s more? You can head down from 8pm to 11.15pm every night to catch live band performances by local acts.

Currently, they’re giving 15% off all food items on Mondays to Fridays (11am to 4pm) to all students and Lazada One staff.
