New in town: JB’s famed Meng Meng Roasted Duck opens full-fledged restaurant in Serangoon

Roasted meat lovers, rejoice! The renowned Meng Meng Roasted Duck from JB, well-known for their dang gui-marinated duck, has opened a full-service restaurant in Singapore, bringing their delectable roasted delights to Serangoon.

Meng Meng Roasted Duck - Storefront

The Malaysian chain has several outlets in Johor Bahru, and previously opened 2 heartland hawker stalls in Ang Mo Kio and Hougang. The former ceased operations in Sep 2023 to make way for the Serangoon restaurant in view of rising ingredient costs, according to 8days.

If you’re a frequent patron of the Hougang stall, you can now savour your favourites in air-conditioned comfort at the new 70-seater restaurant!

Meng Meng Roasted Duck - Roasted Duck and Char Siew

As if it isn’t already obvious enough, you have to try the Roasted Irish Duck with Chinese Herb (S$78 for whole, $42 for half, $25 for upper quarter, $21 for lower quarter). The charcoal-roasted duck is succulent and deeply herbal, with irresistible crisp skin that begs you to have more.

Those going solo, tuck into an individual portion of Roasted Duck with Chinese Herb (from $8) with rice, noodles or chicken rice

Other meats like Char Siew and Roasted Pork are available too because, let’s be real, no roast meat stall is complete without them. Get the holy trifecta served to you on a literal platter with the Roasted Combination (from S$22.80)!

Meng Meng Roasted Duck - Zichar Dishes

If you thought that was all, Meng Meng also boasts a variety of classic zi char fare with crowd favourites like Emperor Fish Head Curry (S$33.80), Sambal Kang Kong (S$9.80) and Sambal Sotong (S$18.80) among many others.
