If you’re looking for a new spot to drink and grab some grub, HOT BUNS, which recently opened on 4 Jan 2023 at The Cannery in Clarke Quay, serves modern iterations of bao and other finger food.
Located just a few minutes away from Zouk and Fort Canning MRT Station, HOT BUNS is the perfect snack pit-stop for all your pre-partying or supper needs.
The highlight of their menu is the bao options that have been modernised. Firstly, the Ol’Skool Bao (S$10) features crispy spam atop a bed of truffle scrambled egg and cabbage encased in a steamed white bun.
You also have the Classic Pork Belly Bao (S$12) which is a remake of the Taiwanese gua bao with tender soy braised pork belly, crispy mock goose and pickled daikon topped with signature mayo sauce.
Lastly, the Beef Galbi Bao (S$15) is a fusion of savoury Korean and Japanese flavours with BBQ beef short ribs, kimchi, pickled daikon, perilla leaf and okonomiyaki sauce. If you’re up for it, you can opt for all three signature baos with The Threesome (S$18).
You can also try their Crispy Honey Soy Chicken Burger (S$12) which has tender chicken thigh that’s deep-fried in buttermilk followed by a smothering of honey garlic soy sauce. It’s then finished with brioche bun, sweet and tart cabbage, housemade crema and pickled daikon.
If you had a little too much to drink and want something light, you can opt for their snacks that include Spiced Corn Ribs (S$6), Shaker Fries (S$6/S$9), Shaker Spam Chips (S$6/S$9) and Potstickers (S$10).
As for drinks (if you’ve not had enough) there are options such as Moutai Spiked Slushies (S$12/S$48) and ReverseTap Draft Beer (S$12/S$16).
