New in town: HaengBokCakeYo, Kampong Bahru — Dessert boutique with trendy Korean-inspired baked goods

Ever since I sank my teeth into Nanatang’s fatcarons, I’ve never gone back to indulging in French macarons. I’m sorry Chef Clement, but it seems like those thin French macarons that you often speak so highly of can no longer beat these chunky, multi-textured treats that the Koreans have invented.

Once again bringing in the trendy Korean dessert culture to our sunny island is Nanatang’s latest endeavour into Singapore’s cafe scene, HaengBokCakeYo, a walk-in takeaway dessert boutique located in Kampong Bahru Road set to open its doors on 30 April 2021.

A wordplay on the Korean word ‘haeng bok hae yo’ (행복해요) which translate to ‘happiness’ in English, HaengBokCakeYo aims to spark laughter and joy in all their diners the moment they bite into the cafe’s baked goods.
