Tony Leung wants to produce his own film
11 Oct - Now that he is at the next phase of his career, Tony Leung Chiu Wai revealed that he is planning to become a producer.
As reported on Mingpao, the actor shared as much at a press conference for a bank, saying that he is forming his own team for a project that he will produce and star in, though nothing has been finalised yet.
"I have been in the industry for 42 years. Waiting all day long is not the answer. I should take the initiative and share what I have experienced over the years," he said.
Tony said that he already has a group of people that can help him create what he wants.
"I actually have some ideas now, but I haven't decided which director I would like to hire to direct it. It's been revised over and over again, but it's really a fun thing to do," he added.
Asked if it would be hard to do two tasks at the same time by becoming a producer, Tony said that he is not afraid of hard work.
"This is the last stage of my acting career. I don't know how long it will be. I think that at this stage I have accumulated so much experience and I should do what I want to do," he added.
