Tony Leung to reduce work in the Year of the Dog

19 Feb – Hong Kong actor Tony Leung Chiu Wai recently revealed that he is reducing his workload this year to spend more time with his family.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who sat down for an interview recently, revealed that due to his busy schedule last year, he didn't have a lot of time to accompany his elderly mother.

"I took on a number of movies last year, including "Monster Hunt 2", "Europe Raiders", and "Theory of Ambitions". So, it is time to take a break. I want to cut production this year, spend more time with my mum, and take her out for meals," he added.

When asked how long he will be taking his break this time, Tony assured that it wouldn't be as long as his previous three-year break since he has another project related to the "Monster Hunt" franchise to be filmed soon.

Back in 2013, the actor decided to go on a hiatus following the completion of Wong Kar Wai's "The Grandmaster", a movie which took an arduous three years to film. His first movie following his return was Zhang Jiajia's directorial debut, "See You Tomorrow".
