Tom Hanks and Ron Howard to visit Singapore for "Inferno"

3 Jun – "Inferno" star Tom Hanks and director Ron Howard will be making a little stop in Singapore this month.

The duo will be in the city for the annual Sands for Singapore charity festival by Marina Bay Sands, according to The Straits Times.

Both Hanks and Howard are set to be here from 12 June onwards, not only to kick-off fund raising efforts for the charity festival but also to promote their upcoming mystery thriller.

Hanks reprises his role as Robert Langdon in "Inferno", with Howard once again directing. This marks the third time for duo to collaborate in the movie franchise adapted from author Dan Brown's novel series.

"Inferno" is the third instalment after 2006's "The Da Vinci Code" and 2009's "Angels & Demons". It is an adaptation of the fourth novel, as Howard decided to skip book number three, "The Lost Symbol".

"Inferno" is slated for release on 27 October 2016.

This year's Marina Bay Sands' Sands for Singapore charity festival will be the fourth edition.

Last year's 10-day festival managed to raise more than SGD5.4million for 80 charities with more than 300,000 beneficiaries.
