Tito Sotto takes indefinite hiatus from "Eat Bulaga!"

As Senate president, the politician-TV personality decides to take a break from his showbiz work

23 May – Now that he has been elected the Senate President, Senator Vicente "Tito" Sotto revealed that he will be taking an indefinite hiatus from his long-running show, "Eat Bulaga!"

As reported on Rappler, the senator confirmed the news to the media recently, saying, "I will temporarily leave."

As to whether he would no longer host the show even when there are no Senate sessions, Sotto said that he will discuss his position with co-hosts Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon, as well as the show's producer, Tony Tuviera.

Sotto was elected Senate president earlier this week, replacing Aquilino Pimentel III, who resigned earlier.

Pimentel was also responsible for nominating Sotto as his successor.
