"Our Time Will Come" is Hong Kong Critics' Best Film

19 Jan – Ann Hui's "Our Time Will Come" has recently been named Best Film at the 2017 Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards.

As reported on Mingpao, the war film, which focuses on strong female characters, was praised for its detailed but gentle storytelling. It stars Zhou Xun as the legendary "Fang Gu", who is a key figure of resistance during the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong.

Speaking to the media about the recognition, Hui stated that she was happy that it was a win for all. The movie's screenwriter He Jiping also shared similar response, saying, "This is a professional award that credits director Hui and the effort of the entire team."

On the other hand, after returning home empty-handed at the Golden Horse Awards, Taiwanese filmmaker Sylvia Chang finally received Best Director award from the Hong Kong Critics for her film, "Love Education".
