Thrilling fan film imagines John Wick with Nerf guns

‘John Wick’ and its recent high-octane sequel are not films that a younger audience should be watching (that pencil scene, eugh), no matter how much they might want to grow up to be Keanu Reeves.

What you can safely show them instead however is this wonderful fan-made film recreating the ‘Wick’ series’ balletic “gun-fu” style of combat with Nerf guns instead of actual, nasty guns.

The result is incredibly well put-together, with fight choreography that might not match the illustrious work of the Hollywood films, but is close enough to remain seriously impressive.

As in ‘John Wick: Chapter 2’, the basic plot of the short film sees a dying goon put out a contract on John that sets the whole criminal underworld on his tail.

In the film proper this means besuited men and women who meet a variety of bloody ends in New York City. In the Nerf film, it means people in balaclavas and sunglasses taking a three inch bit of a foam to the face.

The video was made by Corridor Digital, a team that produces videos based on a wide variety of pop culture series, including video games Minecraft, Assassin’s Creed and Grand Theft Auto.

Last year Corridor’s “Real GTA” video, recreating GTA 5 in real world Los Angeles, went viral.
