There's Already Burgeoning Drama With King Charles' 75th Birthday
In case you hadn't noticed, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry aren't on speaking terms with the royal family due to years of drama and acrimony that recently escalated with the publication of Harry's memoir, Spare.
And on top of recent news that the couple haven't been invited to a royal gathering marking the first anniversary of the Queen's death, it looks like there's some burgeoning drama with King Charles' 75th birthday.
Obviously 75 a milestone birthday, and royal biographer Angela Levin tells The Sun that Charles will want Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan—as well as their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet—there for his big day on November 14.
"Charles would want Harry and Meghan’s children there," Levin claims, adding "If Harry and Meghan want to make an excuse, that’s their decision.”
She also notes that an apology to Harry is pretty much out of the question, so when it comes to Charles' birthday "Harry will have to decide. The door is open.” Meanwhile, Levin speculates that Harry might attend the party solo with Archie, who "could see his cousins."
Speaking of Charles' big day, a source tells the Daily Mail that celebrations will be low-key and stay within the royal family. Ahem: "His Majesty is not given to fuss over such things as it is but he is [also] acutely conscious there have been many set-piece royal events of late and his firm thinking is that events to mark his birthday will be minimal."
Oh, and another insider notes that "There's been enough fly-pasts and marches."
