The top propane grill we tested — a Weber — is down to its best price in months

There's still 3+ months of outdoor cookout season left, so add this compact, wheeled wonder to your cart while it's over $150 off.

The only thing better than the smell of hot dogs and burgers wafting into your nose? When those aromas are coming from your own grill and not your neighbor's. As tempting as it is to invite yourself over to their yard and get in on the action, you can spare yourself potential awkwardness by investing in a grill of your own. With a gas grill, you'll be on your way to smoky deliciousness in no time, and the best model we tested — the Weber Spirit II Liquid Propane Grill — happens to be on sale during Amazon's 4th of July Sale for a hot $150 off.

You'll certainly be in good "Spirit" once you have this bad boy fired up. Bring on the burgers!

Why is it a good deal? 💰

This is the best price we've seen for this grill in months, and considering we're smack dab in the heart of grilling season, chances are it's not going to dip much lower than this — if at all — until summer's over. Our advice? Snag it while it's on sale; you still have over three months to char to your heart's content.

Why do I need this? 🤔

According to Yahoo writer Kristin Granero — who went in search of the best grills for 2024 — the Weber Spirit II earned the title of "Best Propane Gas Grill" for several reasons. She describes it as "a compact, no-frills gas grill that gets the job done — and then some." It's not the largest grill on the market, but it can fit 12 burgers at a time, according to one brand photo. Plus, its smaller size means it's easier to move around.

"Two stainless steel burners let you carve out hot and cold zones for more targeted results," adds Kristin. "There's a built-in lid thermometer for gauging temperatures, two wheels for added mobility and two side trays — one of them collapsible — for creating prep space. You'll need a 20-pound propane tank, but it's easy to set up (use the Weber app to access assembly instructions in 3D)."

Another cool feature? It has a warming rack for keeping buns toasty, and the hooks on the side of the trays allow for hanging your tongs and other grilling accessories. Oh, and Weber is so confident in this model, they say the Infinity Ignition "is guaranteed to ignite every time." That said, it's backed by a 10-year warranty juuust in case.

What reviewers say 💬

Nearly 3,000 Amazon shoppers are also cookin' with gas, thanks to the Weber Spirit II.

Pros 👍

"This is our second Weber," wrote one loyalist. "Our first one lasted over 25 years. ... Our first dinner off it was fantastic. I think Weber is the best out there. Never have a gas flavor. Temperature control works well."

"I love this grill, just the right size for the two of us," shared another shopper. "It heats up quickly and [is] virtually smoke-free, unless, of course, I use smoking pellets. ... It’s also very easy to clean, even the drip tray."

"For years we always had large grills and finally decided to buy something smaller," said a third. "It works so well for us and is so much easier to take care of. The igniter works great and is very sturdy, which allows us to move it in and out of our metal building with ease. Love the temperature gauge, and the ease of putting on the gas tank is a huge plus!"

Cons 👎

According to one reviewer, you might need a decent amount of time to set it up. "Easy to assemble, but very time-consuming," they wrote. "No complaints once you put it together."

"[I] wish the propane tank was better hidden," said a generally satisfied fan. "[I] got the propane tank cover. I think it looks a lot better."

Psst: The cover is on sale too!

Need a cover? Sure ya do, if you want to keep your new favorite grill safe from the elements. This sturdy tarp is water- and UV-resistant to help prevent rusting and fading.

"I am meticulous with my stuff, so when I got my grill, I knew I wanted something to take care of it," wrote a reviewer. "I got this cover and I'm impressed with how well it stays on and helps with keeping bugs and bird feces off it." (Yuck!)
