The Duchess of Cambridge is not only one of the most recognisable women in the world, but she also has one of the most-wanted barnets in Britain.

We’ve all tediously tried to achieve her princess perfect blow dry, but most of us fail miserably. We all want to know what her secret is.

Well, today is our lucky day ladies as Kate’s personal hair dresser Richard Ward has spilled her hair care secrets. The mum-of-two has trusted Ward with her trademark luscious locks for over a decade so if anyone knows how to achieve her perfect hairdo, it’s him.

While we all can’t afford Kate’s signature “Chelsea Blow Dry” at Wards salon in London, there are a few key tools and tricks to a Kate-worthy blow dry.

Ward’s first tip is to use the correct brush and in this case, it’s a rather, erm, girly beauty buy. But don’t let its appearance deceive you; this is one bad*** brush.

Ward swears by an angel winged, heart shaped brush called the Tangle Angel, telling People that this brush is fab at “lifting the hair from the roots to really get to the cuticle”, and at a bargain £9.53 it’s going straight in our basket.

As for the blow dry, Ward explains “the mistake a lot of you make is that you shake the hair dryer at [your hair] too much” (guilty).

Instead we should be drying our hair from the roots in a controlled way in order to get Kate’s sleek and shiny look. So no more hair over face drying action.

Finally, the voluminous curls. Ward says “this look has to be achieved by rollers” so farewell curling wand. As for the hold, once your hair is out of rollers twist it around your finger and spray with a dash (not a can) of hairspray.

There you have it, an insight glimpse at how to get Kate’s world famous locks.
