Terence Siufay finally comes out as gay
19 Aug – After much speculation about his sexual orientation for the past 13 years, Hong Kong singer Terence Siufay decided to finally come out as a gay man.
As reported on Mingpao, the singer made the confession during an interview with Stephen Chan on the latter's YouTube show, "Stephen Talks", saying that he was not prepared to talk about the topic in the past, which is why he lied when asked about in in previous interviews.
"I've been scared all along. It felt like a burden in my heart. For 28 years I have been denying it. I was used to it, but it also made me afraid. I was worried what would happen if I admitted to something," he said, before finally admitting that he was talking about his sexual orientation.
Terence said that while he was not prepared before, the fact that Stephen made the first step into asking him gave him the courage to admit it.
As for his same-sex relationships, Terence said that he has had two of them so far - the first one was an industry outsider whom he dated for three years, and the second one was a ten-year relationship that ended in 2018.
"I believe in fate and will not deliberately pursue [relationships]," he added.
