Taylor Swift's convoy heads to Capella Singapore: Inside Capella's above S$10k per night suite
There are three private manors that are set among luscious grounds.
Hotels are a great place to rest and relax – and for singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, having a secure and private place away from privy eyes is an important aspect as well. When the Straits Times reported that her convoy reached the 5-star resort, Capella Singapore, at 6.20pm, a few of us shared her sentiment, 'oh yeah, that's a pretty secluded resort!'
It's no surprise if the Shake It Off singer and possibly, her beau Travis Kelce is holed up there – Capella Singapore's private gardens and grounds are built away from main roads and are framed by the sea. When it's not entertaining wealthy travellers, the resort also served as a meeting ground between President Trump and North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un in 2018.

Though I've never stayed at Capella Singapore before, I was invited to several private events that were held at the hotel, including a wedding at the ballroom and luxury fashion and beauty brand presentations at Capella Manor. I also counted down New Year 2023 with friends and family at Bob's Bar. With these few experiences on hand, I recalled the staff service was always exceptional and warm.
Where would Taylor Swift stay at Capella Singapore?
There are over 112 rooms, suites and villas that are immersed in 30 acres of tranquil and luscious landscaped grounds, each thoughtfully and elegantly designed by Jaya Ibrahim to combine bespoke contemporary comforts with natural materials and touches of Asian tradition.
Three manors are set among the luscious grounds and designed to contrast past and present in their architecture and interiors: Colonial, Capella and Contemporary manors. The Contemporary manor is located at the entrance to the Main Building, which features a garden view, king-size and twin beds, outdoor terrace, and a private lap pool.

The Colonial and Capella manors are located at the fringes of the estate ground and totally immersed in lush foliage. Staff manning buggy rides can ferry guests to the main building where Bob's Bar and Chef Mauro Colagreco's Fiamma restaurant is located. We think Swift and her entourage could possibly be staying at these manors as they are one of a kind and super private.
The last we checked in 2018, the price of one of these manors was S$10k and above per night, but prices could change because of GST. The price also depends on room tariff and package charges.
We've reached out to a representative at Capella Singapore to enquire about the manor's pricing but have yet to receive a reply.
What would Taylor Swift do at Capella Singapore?
Besides savouring the scrumptious food at Fiamma and Cassia restaurants, there's the award-winning spa, Auriga, that incorporates traditional techniques with organic ingredients in their spa treatments and massages. A three-hour Auriga Signature Moon Ritual would set you back at S$595++, which includes a detox body scrub, detox body wrap and New Moon massage. Sounds divine! There are also facials and body massages for men, with a 90-minute lifting and toning facial costing S$330++.
When was Capella Singapore built?
Capella Singapore is located in the southern coast of Sentosa island in Singapore. Inspired by Western Classical architectural style, the hotel was built in the tropical colonial classical architecture style. Before the buildings were restored as a hotel, the buildings were used as garrisons for the British Artillery in the 1880s. Block buildings 48 and 49 were set aside for the Officers’ Mess and living quarters for the unmarried officers. Block buildings 50 and 51 were for married officers and their families.
Who is the owner of Capella Singapore?
Capella Singapore is privately owned by luxury real estate developer Pontiac Land. Pontiac Land is owned by the Kwee family, whose net worth is estimated to be US$5.6 billion as of October 2022, according to Forbes. The Kwee brothers collectively run Pontiac Land: Kwee Liong Tek is the chairman and Kwee Liong Keng serves as managing director.
