On Tuesday, Target announced, via its newsletter "A Bullseye View," that they're introducing eight new cosmetic brands to their current beauty assortment. These new brands will bring more than 150 products combined to Target stores and online, all of which are designed for darker skin tones.

“We know our guests have a wide range of beauty needs and preferences, and we want to make sure Target has the best assortment for all hair types or skin tones,” said Christina Hennington, senior vice president of Beauty and Essentials at Target in the newsletter. The new brands are currently available online and will become available in select stores on May 20. They include: Coloured Raine, EveryHue Beauty, The Lip Bar, Makeup Geek, Haleys Beauty, Hue Noir, Reina Rebelde, and Violet Voss. Many of these brands have only been available online in the past, so Target's new launch would mark the first time they're available in stores.

Since Rihanna's widely successful launch of Fenty Beauty last September, it seems that cosmetics companies have been shifting their focus to increase inclusivity and diversity in their shades (and campaigns), allowing everyone to be represented. And that's exactly what Target's launch is trying to achieve here. Now, their shoppers can enjoy a wide range of foundations, lip colors, eyeshadows, highlighters, and more. "We’ll continue to listen to our guests to understand what beauty products they’re looking for at Target, and look forward to seeing their response to these new cosmetic brands,” said Hennington.
