Tang Anqi to undergo surgery after setting herself on fire

4 Mar - SNH48 member Tang Anqi will be undergoing surgery today following her hospitalisation after setting herself on fire recently.

According to Mingpao news, the singer, who previously was reported to have accidentally lit herself on fire during a dispute with a friend at a cafe in Shanghai, was revealed to be suffering from burns around 80 percent of her body.

It was also reported that Tang's extremely flammable tights or stockings were the reason why the fire spread rapidly.

A doctor at the Changhai Hospital of Shanghai stated that the singer has already woken up, although she is not out of danger just yet.

She was also reported to have asked the doctor if she would be disfigured.

On the other hand, another report stated that Tang currently could not speak, but has been spending her time listening to music. Her mother has also rushed to the hospital upon receiving the news, but was inconsolable and not yet ready to be interviewed.

On the other hand, the singer's manager stated that the whole incident is still a mystery, and that the CCTV at the cafe wasn't able to capture what had happened since Tang was sitting at a blind spot when it occurred.
