Takashi Sorimachi shines most post-Johnny & Associates

15 Nov - Former Japanese heartthrob Takashi Sorimachi was recently named the biggest star who became more successful after leaving Japanese talent agency, Johnny & Associates.

The actor, known for movies and dramas like "GTO", "Hotman", and "The Blue Wolf: To the Ends of the Earth and Sea" was revealed to once been an artiste under the talent agency, which is known to produce top Japanese stars throughout the years.

In previous interviews, Takashi, who is now under Ken-On, admitted that he was signed on as part of Johnny & Associates when he was 15, but was fired a year later.

The survey, which ran from 11 to 25 October, had Takashi winning the top place with 991 votes.

The second place goes to Takahiro Moriuchi of ONE OK ROCK fame, the eldest son of veteran Japanese singer Shinichi Mori. The third goes to Masahiro Motoki, who was part of the Oscar's 2008 Best Foreign Language-winning movie, "Departures".

Among other stars in the list include Tomohisa Yamashita, SMAP's Takeshi Kusanagi and Masahiro Nakai, and singer-actor Hiromi Go.
