UPDATE: An autopsy carried out on Friday (18 September) found that Alien Huang suffered from cardiovascular disease, indicating that he may have suffered a heart attack.

Well-known entertainer Alien Huang (Xiao Gui) died on Wednesday (16 Sept), according to media reports. He was 36.

The Taiwanese celebrity was found dead in his home in Beitou district, Taipei, according to Dimsum Daily. The Taipei Fire Department received a report at 11.27am, and an ambulance crew that was dispatched found Huang’s body. Police are investigating the cause of death.

According to United Daily News (UDN), no sign of drugs or alcohol was found at the scene, nor were there any signs of fighting or intrusion by other parties.

Although his family initially refused to allow Huang to undergo an autopsy, the Taipei District Prosecutor's Office requested the procedure as police believed the circumstances of his death were still in question and the position of his body and an external examination had not provided a conclusive result.

The autopsy was carried out on Friday (18 September) and forensic pathologists found that he suffered from cardiovascular disease, indicating that he may have suffered a heart attack, reported UDN.

However, the investigation is still ongoing and the official cause of death has yet to be announced.

Apple Daily Taiwan reported that Huang’s father swung by his house around 11am on Wednesday to pick him up for lunch and discovered his son’s body on the floor.

According to UDN, Huang’s body was found lying in the corridor outside the bathroom. A bathtub was filled with water, and the air-conditioner was switched on. There were no signs of drugs, alcohol or forced entry.

Huang reportedly wore a top but no underwear and there were blood stains found on the floor, said Apple Daily Taiwan.

Security camera footage showed that Huang returned home alone at 7.15pm on Tuesday (15 Sept), and was not seen leaving his premises.

Huang is known for hosting Taiwanese entertainment variety show 100% Entertainment together with artist Show Lo.

Huang made his acting debut in 2002 and went on to star in many popular films and television dramas, including KO One (2005), Corner With Love (2007), Sweet Sweet Bodyguard (2012) and Lovestore At The Corner (2014).

He also founded fashion label AES (Alien Evolution Studio) in 2008 and published three illustration books.
