LJ Reyes moves on after split from Paulo Avelino

LJ Reyes is done with crying over her separation from Paulo Avelino, father of her three year old son, Ethan Akio.
“Kailangan ako maging okay kasi may isang taong nakadepende sa akin,” she said at the thanksgiving celebration her management company, PPL Entertainment Inc., gave for the entertainment press recently.
PPL, owned by Perry P Lansigan, announced that it is donating the funds it was supposed to spend for the traditional press Christmas party and raffle to a drive that will finance the construction of one classroom in Estancia, Iloilo, which was badly hit by supertyphoon Yolanda.
LJ signed a pledge to support the classroom construction together with fellow PPL talents Dingdong Dantes, Gabby Eigenmann, Geoff Eigenmann, Arthur Solinap, Jolina Magdangal-Escueta, Rochelle Pangilinan, Max Collins, Wendell Ramos and Carlo Guevarra.
The single mom didn’t look like she just weathered an emotional storm.
Power of prayer
“Kahit anong tindi ng pinagdadaanan ng isang tao, basta matibay ang foundation at support system, okay lang. Ang family ko, ever since nandoon sila for me, kahit anong mangyari. And prayers, of course, first of all.”
LJ added she has forgiven Paulo, but is not yet ready to forget. “You learn to let go.”
In fact, LJ reveals that she’ll be happy for Paulo if he and KC Concepcion, whom he is currently dating, will finally be a couple.
“Sino ba naman ang hindi magkakagusto kay KC? Maganda siya, may pinag-aralan.”
LJ is not yet ready for another love, simply because she has her son to think about.
Learning from experience
“You learn from experience. Mas careful ka ngayon. May fear na pwedeng maulit (ang experience). Kapag may pumasok sa buhay mo, you won’t be sure if masu-sustain yon. Baka ma-attach yung anak ko o hindi siya ma-attach.”
Besides, she has no complaints in her life for now. Paulo, she says, is a good provider. He fetches their son at home and is welcome to do so any time.
If anyone hits Paulo, LJ will be one of the first to defend him because “I don’t want to talk ill of my son’s father.”
Paulo, she adds, is not suicidal, as some of the reports claimed months back.
What about the prospect of a reconciliation?
Not for now, but LJ is not sure about the future. All she knows is that all young single moms like her should just focus on raising their child and praying for guidance.
“Ang bawi sa 'yo ay yung anak mo na naglalalambing sa ‘yo.”
