Janine Tugonon and boyfriend break up

Miss Universe 2012 first runner-up Janine Tugonon and boyfriend of one year Jaypee Santos have called it quits.

"Honestly, ngayon we are not in good terms. Siguro may nangyari lang na hindi ko ini-expect na mangyayari," Janine said during her guesting on KrisTV on Tuesday, April 16. Jaypee was present during the show.

Meeting Danny

Janine revealed that one of the reasons why they broke up is her communication with The Script main vocalist Danny O' Donoghue. She met Danny during the band's Manila concert in March 31 and the two have been exchanging text messages since then.

"Kasi hindi ba sa Araneta kapag may meet and greet, since kilala ko ang staff ng Araneta sabi ko sa kanila sobra akong fan ng The Script pwede bang ma-meet ko. So na meet niya ako, nandoon siya si (Jaypee) pinakilala ko nga siya, kasi tinanong niya 'Do you have a boyfriend?' Sabi ko 'Yeah that's my boyfriend.' Tapos sabi niya 'Follow me on Twitter and I will follow you back. Tapos nag-direct message siya," Janine recalled.

Janine’s admission that she and Danny exchanged messages didn't sit well with Jaypee.

"Kasi sabi niya (Jaypee) kung ayaw mo talaga sa taong iyan hindi mo siya kokontakin," Janine said.

This led to an argument that ended their relationship.

"Kasi nga ayaw ko naman na may iba akong iniisip. Sabi ko sa kanya I need some time to think talaga," she said.

Does Danny like her?

"Hindi naman sa type, we are talking lang," Janine replied.

She  feels that Danny, who broke up with his model-girlfriend Irma Mali last year, also wants to know her better. Janine said she and Danny are not yet an item, but they still communicate.

"Akala ko kasi si Danny na baka that night lang o nagandahan lang and all. Pero feeling ko siya din ay gusto niyang makilala ako," she said.

Janine is happy she realized that she’s still attracted to another man while she’s still single.

"Kahit sa ganito palang kababaw eh na-attract na ako kaagad, paano pa kapag ikakasal na? Maganda na ganito pa lang kaaga eh nalaman ko na napwede pa pala akong ma-attract sa iba."

Jaypee, on the other hand, is said to willing to wait for Janine to come back to him.

She also told a friend that “ People are so fast in judging and making assumptions.”
