First-time screen partners Dingdong Dantes and Bea Alonzo are so secure in their respective relationships, they were able to finish doing their romantic scenes in Star Cinema’s “She’s the One”  without a hitch.

“We’re very thankful sa aming respective partners for giving us support because it makes life easier for us as actors,” Dingdong said at the press conference for the movie at the  ABS-CBN compound on Monday, October 7.

Dingdong shared that his girlfriend, Marian Rivera, has met Bea even before they started working with each other.

In a separate interview, Marian said it was Bea who approached her and said she’ll be working with Dingdong. Marian showed how much she appreciated Bea by giving her a box of cookies and a card.

Dingdong, for his part, already worked with Bea’s boyfriend Zanjoe Marudo in the movie “One More Try.”

Relationships that inspire

Dingdong added that being in a relationship helps him and Bea in their work because their respective partners inspire them to become better actors.

“Doon namin hinuhugot kung ano yung pwede naming ibigay. It’s very good to be in love especially if you’re doing a love story. What you feel inside can easily be translated on screen. Kaya we’re very grateful sa aming respective partners kasi they inspire us to be very good actors.”

Wedding bells?

Does he think Marian is “the one” for him?

“I sincerely hope so,” Dingdong replied.

He admitted that although he and Marian have talked about marriage,  they don’t have any specific plans yet.

“Imposible naman na hindi namin napapag-usapan. We talk about it on a general point of view. I want to leave it at that first para may excitement pa rin. Wala pa talaga (na dream wedding idea). Hindi ko pa talaga iniisip that far.”

Dingdong downplayed speculations that he’s one of Star Cinema’s favorite actors although he comes from rival network GMA 7.

“I’m always grateful. No matter where I go, I’ll always be an ambassador of GMA and I’m proud to represent. Kung saan man ako, I try to always give my best and to always leave the best impression as a homegrown GMA talent.”

“She’s the One,” which opens on October 16, also stars Enrique Gil, Liza Soberano, Daniel Matsunaga, Guji Lorenzana, Marc Solis, RS Francisco, Erika Padilla and Garlic Garcia.
