Dimples Romana gives birth to second child
Ten years after becoming a first-time mom, Dimples Romana gave birth to her second child Alonzo Romeo Jose by husband Boyet Ahmee on Thursday, February 12.
The actress, who was only 19 when she carried her first child Callie, announced, “Meet my miracle Alonzo Romeo Jose. Praise God!!! Thank you for all your prayers.”
She posted photos of her baby on Instagram.
Dimples admitted in an interview on “Kris TV” that she felt like a first-time mom because it has been a decade since she got pregnant.
“Sabi ko nga sa kanila, parang first time ulit sa akin. I was 19 then and was really afraid and didn’t know what to do. Of course, naturally, not everybody were happy about that. They really didn’t think we could make it, kami ni Boyet. In fact, yung iba, nagpupustahan pa.”
Planned pregnancy
Dimples shared that her second pregnancy was planned and that it was delayed for years because she and her husband have been saving for their future.
“The downside of being married early is hindi n’yo pa nakikilala ang isa’t isa, nai-enjoy ang isa’t isa as a couple. Apparently, when you’re a parent pala, kailangan muna na ma-enjoy n’yo ang isa’t isa ng dalawa lang muna kayo. So at least by then, pag nag-parenting kayo, mas madali n’yo na ma-sort out. So sobrang excited kami.”
She doesn’t regret setting aside showbiz to start a family at a young age.
“I’m really thankful my husband and I are celebrating our 9th anniversary in June (2012). I think it all paid off. The sacrifices are all worth it,” she said in an earlier interview with Yahoo Philippines.
