[BIFF] Zhang Ziyi Says She Won′t Be Satisfied Until She Works With Director Lee Chang Dong
Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi expressed her interest in appearing in director Lee Chang Dong’s film.
Zhang Ziyi attended a talk session held at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) Village in Haeundae on October 5.
Zhang continued, “I first met director Lee Chang Dong at a film festival in Hong Kong. After seeing Milyang (Secret Sunshine), I thought this director would be able to see the potential in an actor.”
Director Lee replied, “If I get to work with Zhang Ziyi, I will be able to achieve my dream. I really want to work with her. I think we’ll be able to work together in the near future.”
The two met on several occasions to talk about films, and they also drank makgeolli in Insadong when the actress visited Korea.
When looking at a poster of herself and Lee Chang Dong, Zhang joked, “We look good together. Director Lee should be an actor.”
On Korean actors, she stated, “Korean actors are all professional. Jang Dong Gun especially memorized all the long Chinese dialogue. Even if the script changed, he memorized all of it.”
