Syamel laughs off cosmetic surgery rumour

9 May - Syamel couldn't help but laugh at the idea that he has had a cosmetic surgery on his face, after new photos of him had netizens noticing how sharp his chin and jawline are.

The singer, who spoke to the media at an Eid event recently, stated that the change to his feature was caused by his weight loss rather than going under the knife.

"I used to weigh 100kg, so the additional fats have covered the part that is being talked about. When my weight is slowly shed until it's just 72kg, only then people are able to see them," he said.

Syamel believes that cosmetic surgery is temporary and that if people want to know the truth, they can find the truth in his child's own features.

"I do believe that celebrities have to look good and smart, but everything has its limit," he added. "As a singer, which side would they want people to see? The vocal talent or the looks? That's a personal preference. For me, I would rather focus on the music and vocal abilities instead."
