The superfluous edible fork is coming to McDonald's Japan

McDonald’s Japan’s Gran Club House, Gran Bacon Cheese and Gran Teriyaki burgers have been well-received over the past six months they have been on sale. Indeed, it has been eight years since the Gran series made an appearance on McDonald’s Japan’s menu.

These burgers, which returned in April this year, are known for their thick authentic beef patty and soft buns.

To thank its customers, McDonald’s Japan is giving them a chance to win this “Frork” with any purchase of the Gran value sets. Also known as the edible fork, “Frork” is available through a scratch card campaign hosted throughout 1,112 outlets in Eastern Japan, starting from Friday (20 October 2017).

The “Frork” debuted earlier in May this year in the United States as a novelty item. The unique form coupled with it being both useless and handy made the “Frork” a hot topic in the US. The handle is made of silicone and designed to look like the packaging of McDonald’s iconic French fries. Three French fries are then attached to the end of the utensil to make it into an edible piece of tableware.

With this “Frork”, not only can you enjoy McDonald’s French fries in a stylish manner, you can also scoop up all the sauce spilled from your Gran burger, leaving not even a single bit of deliciousness behind!
