Sun Li learns her lines through repetition
19 Jul – Do you want to know how award-winning Chinese actress Sun Li memorised her many difficult lines in dramas like "The Legend of Zhen Huan" and "Nothing Gold Can Stay"?
According to the Queen of Television, it is all about repetition.
As reported on Epoch Times, the actress, who sat down for an interview recently, shared that the way she handles a tough script is by closing her eyes and repeating the lines over and over again until it is engraved in her memory.
To prove this, Sun shared a story about an incident with her son.
"When my son was two years old and was yet to learn how to read, I would read him the same picture book every night. It went on probably for a month. One day, he waited for me to read him to sleep, but I was tired [from work], so I skipped some pages. I thought he won't notice, but then he told me, 'Mum, you made a mistake', and he went on to repeat the whole story completely," she said.
Sun stated that since her son listened to the story every night, it was completely engraved in his mind.
However, the actress stressed that she never felt bored by repetition and regularity, saying, "Practice makes perfect. You will learn the essence of it."
