Summer Meng releases statement post husband's confession
20 Jun – Taiwanese actress Summer Meng has issued a public statement following news that her husband has been hospitalised following his confession to committing sexual harassment in the past.
Releasing a statement via her agency on 19 June, the actress expressed, "I am Summer Meng and I regret the incident this morning. Mickey might have some muddled past, but after getting to know him, I know that he works very hard to be a good person, a professional artiste, a doting father and a great husband."
"Thank you for your concern. Mickey is still under observation. Please give us some space to deal with it. We will clarify the matter and give you a better answer... We are a family, and I will definitely accompany him to face and make up for mistakes together," she added.
Mickey released video confessions earlier that day, admitting to accusations made by influencer Zofia, who previously alleged that a Taiwanese TV host sexually harassed her back when she was 17.
He was then revealed to have been rushed to the hospital, smelled of alcohol and with knife cuts on his body.
