Sue Ramirez admits challenge of filming her own scenes

11 Jun – Although she was able to set up her own equipment to film her iWant movie, "Love Lockdown" during the enhanced community quarantine earlier, Sue Ramirez stated that she has no desire to do it again, at least in the near future.

As reported on Inquirer, the actress who was among the four stars who spoke during an online discussion called "Actor's Cue" about the experience of shooting their own scenes at home due to the situation caused by the pandemic, stated that her respect for the people working behind the camera has only increased after having to do everything herself, just like experienced by fellow actress Arci Munoz.

"[Like Arci], I also had to operate my lapel set. I likewise had to do my own lighting, then figure out which angle I should best record myself with my camera. It drained me so much that I decided not to accept an offer for another similar project," she said.

As to why she won't do it again, Ramirez said that she doesn't want to be the cause of delay in case she fails to deliver her part.

"If you think it's already difficult to act, think again. Unlike you, people from production get to work from the time they arrive on the set until the director wraps it up for the night. It's so draining," she added.

However, Ramirez stated that she still feels proud to be one of the first people to gain the experience of working in such a way as part of the new normal.

"We just need to push for this more so that more people will embrace it. Everyone is still in denial. Slowly, we will learn to accept this. Just like everything else in our industry, this is something that we should all experience for ourselves in order to embrace it," she said.
