Steven Cheung denies hefty pay for China gig

5 June - Steven Cheung recently asked netizens and the media to not make up false information regarding his performance fee, following a recent show in China.

As reported on Oriental Daily, the former Sun Boy'z member and father of four was recently invited to sing at a Chinese nightclub, where he not only performed the duo's song, "Unchanged" but also fellow Sun Boy'z member Kenny Kwan's "Red Eyes".

A clip of the performance was leaked online, and when some netizens asked the original poster how much Steven was paid to perform, he or she responded that Steven was paid RMB 70,000 (approx. USD 9,856).

Steven, who saw the post, decided to screenshot the interaction on Instagram Story and denied the amount, writing, "I'd like to ask you, the editor, not to write randomly. I have had everyone asking me if I made RMB 70,000."

The singer said that he wouldn't have been so worried about his livelihood if he was paid that much.

Wife Man Man has also responded to the post on her social media account, and remarked, "70,000? If that was the case, I wouldn't have been [down and out] right now."
