Stephen Fung collaborates with tycoon Joseph Tsai for new documentary
27 Mar - Stephen Fung recently revealed that he is one of the executive producers of the new documentary, "Breaking Boundaries" produced by Joseph Tsai's firm.
On 25 March, the filmmaker shared a photo of him with the Taiwanese-Canadian billionaire business magnate and co-founder of Alibaba Group, writing, "Pleasure to executive produce with Mr. Joe Tsai through his media investment firm 127 Wall on upcoming documentary 'Breaking Boundaries'."
Stephen revealed that the film looks at Californian teenager Nastasya Generalova's experiences as the only black girl in Rhythmic Gymnastics for Team USA, as well as her relationship with her mother in the stressful lead up to Tokyo Olympics qualification.
Asked how the cooperation came to be, Stephen stated, "When I first encountered this project, I thought the subject matter was very meaningful. At the same time, I knew that Mr Joseph Tsai's company had this project. We both like positive social issues, so we quickly agreed to this cooperation."
