Stephen Chow's pet correctly predicted World Cup winner
20 Dec – It looks like Stephen Chow's pet dog Kio has a talent of its own compared to its filmmaker dad, after it correctly predicted Argentina of winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
On 18 December, prior to the final game between Argentina and France, the filmmaker posted two photos of his French bulldog in a Shaolin Soccer-inspired "jersey", with Argentina and France flags in front of him.
He asked, "Kio, which team should I [support] tonight?"
In another photo, Kio was seen "smiling" as his front paw touched the Argentina flag, with Stephen telling it, "I believe you brother."
After the game, many netizens returned to the post and praised Kio for its "precise prediction". Others also laughed at the fact that Kio has turned on its own country, seeing that it is actually a French bulldog.
Another hilariously wrote, "Is Kio related to Paul the Octopus?" - referring to the now deceased eight-limbed mollusc that previously predicted the results of Germany's games at Euro 2008 and the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
