Stephanie Ho enjoys flying solo

6 Apr – Although working as an independent singer is much more challenging compared to being signed to a record label, Stephanie Ho admitted that there is a lot of pros in flying solo.

The singer, who sat down for an interview with Mingpao recently, stated that she has become more efficient and active in her work now that she is working on her own, and is really enjoying the process of doing everything by herself.

"When I was in the old company, I felt at ease with everything. There was always a big support for me. But now, you have to do it yourself, be it distributing your music, signing contracts, and getting copyright ownership. I also have to bargain for the cost to not exceed the budget. This is the kind of things I have never tried before," she said.

She also revealed that being independent has its upsides during the pandemic, as big companies may have reservations about releasing new singles for their singers.

"If you really want to pursue your dreams, just do what others don't or get out of your comfort zone. You will definitely encounter difficulties. I started to learn slowly and realised that I can actually do it," she said.
