Star Wars Crew Post Heartfelt Advert In Local Paper Thanking Ireland

’The force is clearly very, very strong with the Star Wars 8 crew.

Because having just wrapped up filming in the small Irish coastal town of Crookhaven, West Cork, they have posted a heartfelt and very classy advert in the local paper the Irish Examiner thanking the inhabitants for their “warm welcome.”

For those of you that can’t quite read the full advert it states, “Lucasfilm and the Cast and Crew of the 8th instalment of the ‘Star Wars’ saga would like to thank the people of Crookhaven, Goleen and the Brow Head Peninsula for the warm welcome we have received throughout our location shoot here in West Cork.”

“We have been captivated by the landscape of the Wild Atlantic Way, it has provided a spectacular backdrop for our story.”

“The tireless commitment of our Irish Crew, the enthusiasm and support of all the people of West Cork have made our Irish adventure one we will always treasure.”

They then decided to add the delightful send-off of, “Go mbeidh an fórsa leat!! – May the force be with you!!” All of this was joined with bright green ‘Star Wars’ and Lucasfilm Ltd logos.

‘Star Wars 8’s’ cast Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley, and Adam Driver, as well as the blockbuster’s writer and director Rian Johnson, have been dotting across Ireland during the film’s production.

In fact, Hamill was so blown away by his time in the country that he also took to Twitter to thank them, writing, “Entire crew basking in the afterglow of Ireland shoot – can’t get over how beautiful it was – the country & the people!”
