Stanley Kwan enjoys reunion with Sammi Cheng

5 Apr – Hong Kong director Stanley Kwan recently admitted that he really enjoyed working with Sammi Cheng again on the new movie, "First Night Nerves".

As reported on Mingpao, the director, who appeared at the premiere of the film at the 43rd Hong Kong International Film Festival, shared that he feels honoured to be making a movie 15 years after "Everlasting Regret" and have the star of the said movie to be the lead again in the new project.

"Time went by so fast, but it didn't feel like it has been a while. Working with Sammi again this time, it feels like I am working with a different person. The character required experience for it to be great, and she did it very well. She was very relaxed," he said.

As for Sammi, the actress said that she didn't feel nervous at all working with Stanley again.

"It just felt like everybody has changed for the better, which made it easier for me. It made me more confident," she said.

The upcoming movie stars Sammi as a has-been actress trying to return to the spotlight through a theatre production, only to face competition from her biggest rival.

"First Night Nerves" co-stars Gigi Leung, Bai Baihe, and Angie Chiu.
