Sperry’s New Beams Plus Nylon CVO Shoe Is Ready For a Seaside Escape
After teasing their latest collaboration during Paris Fashion Week Men’s in June, Sperry’s newest tie-up with Beams Plus is here.
According to the American footwear brand, its new collection of footwear, apparel and accessories with Japanese label Beams Plus fuses Sperry’s boating culture references of the 1960s and ‘70s with a contemporary twist.

The anchor of the collection is the Sperry x Beams Plus Nylon CVO shoe, which is available in three new colorways: white, red and navy. This limited-edition release pays homage to Sperry’s iconic Circular Vamp Oxford (CVO), created by founder Paul Sperry in 1935. Inspired by the slip-resistant texture of his dog’s paw pads, Mr. Sperry cut patterned grooves into rubber soles to develop the world’s first non- slip boat shoe.
The collaborative shoe is recreated sing an exclusive Beams Plus last, with a custom Beams Plus Top-Sider logo on the insole and heel patch. The shoe is updated further with carefully selected heavy-duty nylon uppers, the shoe also features Sperry’s iconic Razor-Cut Wave-Siping for superior traction.
“Standing on 90 years of history, the CVO is a timeless icon of American style,” Jonathan Frankel, president of Sperry, said in a statement. “The Sperry x Beams Plus Nylon CVO celebrates the rich heritage of the Paul Sperry original and offers a piece of fashion history reimagined with a modern aesthetic by the Americana experts at Beams Plus.”
Complementing the footwear is a head-to-toe apparel and accessory capsule designed entirely by Beams Plus, featuring specially crafted vintage-inspired fabrics. Standout items include a sailing jacket, outerwear, trousers, knits, shorts, t-shirts, crewnecks, and a cap from Quaker Marine Supply.
“This collaboration with Sperry is a tribute to our long-standing partnership and a celebration of their 90th Anniversary! Sperry has been a cornerstone of ivy style, prep style, and Beams Plus, and we’re incredibly grateful for their support and dedicated fanbase,” Hideki Mizobata, director of Beams Plus, added. “To commemorate this milestone, we’ve expanded the collection with apparel under the theme ‘Head to Shoes.’ We’ve put so much heart into the specially designed original fabrics and styles for this collaboration. The new Sperry x Beams Plus Nylon CVO, which retails for $100, will be available beginning Feb. 13 at Beams Plus locations in Japan, select specialty retailers worldwide, and online at Sperry.com and Beams.co.jp.
The full footwear, apparel and accessory collection will be available in store at the Beams Plus limited store at 199 Mulberry Street in New York from Feb. 13 through Feb. 28.
