Sourbombe Artisanal Bakery is rollin’ in with new buttery goods
Wildly popular Sourbombe Artisanal Bakery has launched their very own version of croissant rolls aka the very in and very insta-worthy crolls or croons.
Their crolls are available in-store in limited quantities and are also available for pre-order on their website.
As Singapore’s first artisanal sourdough bomboloni store, bread and pastry lovers alike would be no stranger to Sourbombe Artisanal Bakery. It was founded by Genevieve Lee, runner-up of MasterChef Singapore 2018.
Having amassed a cult following since, the store went viral when it launched online at the height of Covid-19 in 2020. Focusing on their innovative creation of the love-child of sourdough and bomboloni, their Sourbombe are constant sell-outs.
They are made from naturally leavened doughnuts (kudos to the sourdough starter) and packed with all sorts of delicious, complex fillings. This includes flavours such as Lavender Lime Mascarpone, and Ispahan, which is a blend of rose, raspberry jam and lychee custard.
Fresh at Sourbombe Artisanal Bakery are crolls in five flavours. Right up there with cruffins and croffles, they are one of the hottest foods today. Crolls, or if you are more familiar with the term croons (think Swish Rolls), are the new kings of the croissant-hybrid craze.
From more atas flavours like Truffle to dessert staples like Chocolate Hazelnut, their new launch covers all bases. Personally, I’m dying to try the Pecan Cinnamon croll. The combination of pecans, white chocolate and cinnamon encased in a flaky, buttery crust sounds simply irresistible.
Pre-order your crolls at S$32 for a box of 5 on the Sourbombe Artisanal Bakery website to secure them in advance. If you are game, head down early to chope your crolls at either of their stores to avoid disappointment.
