Christina Anstead's new show Christina on The Coast might be a sneak peek into her new life with her new husband, Ant Anstead (and designing homes, of course), but there's a familiar face from Flip or Flop featured in the new HGTV series-and that's Izzy Battres.

Israel Battres, the contractor featured on all eight seasons (and counting!) of Flip or Flop and is a close friend of Christina and ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, is no stranger to being on TV, but it's in this new series where he truly shines. Get to know the contractor who seems able to tackle it all-and in record time.

Izzy has been with Christina and Tarek since the start of Flip or Flop.

For the past eight years, Izzy has been Christina and Tarek's righthand man when it comes to their renovations. "Even before the TV show, Tarek and I would go all day doing houses," Izzy told Orange Coast Magazine.

His nickname is "America's contractor."

I mean, it makes sense-he's been a huge part of HGTV for the past eight years!

He owns his own construction business called Battres Construction, and his own home-design company called Battres Home.

Izzy actually started the companies with his brother pre-Flip or Flop, way back in 2008. He met Tarek during a house flip, and the rest was history.

Battres's companies give back to the community.

According to The Orange County Register, "Battres has contributed remodels to nonprofit organizations and residents of limited means because of its commitment to community and families. The company also provides materials to Habitat for Humanity as another way of giving back."

Izzy got dragged into Christina and Tarek's divorce unexpectedly.

With the duo under such scrutiny, Izzy couldn't help but feel sympathy for his home-flipping buddies. “I had no idea what was going happen,” Izzy told Newsire. “Tarek and Christina are not just my business partners, they are my friends.”

He also became involved in a way he hadn't expected. “My daughter came home and said her teacher asked if I was the new boyfriend,” Izzy revealed, after rumors swirled about Christina's new man being a contractor on Flip or Flop (not true, by the way).

Catch Izzy on Christina on the Coast on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on HGTV.
