Legoland park goers can soon fly through the air thanks to a brand-new attraction set to debut at the park’s New York location this summer.

The Minifigure Skyflyer will offer a gondola-style ride featuring seven individually-themed pods from pirates to space and beyond, Legoland shared with Travel + Leisure. Each pod will bring visitors between themed lands and seat up to 10 people.

The pods will be fully ADA accessible.

"There's a lot to enjoy at LEGOLAND New York, but it's a big Resort and our fans asked us for more ways to move easily from the upper and lower levels of the Park," Divisional Director of LEGOLAND New York Stephanie Johnson said in a statement shared with T+L. "We take our guests feedback seriously and the Minifigure Skyflyer gives them a way to do exactly that while igniting creativity, sparking imagination, and inspiring movement through disco and dance."

Park goers will be treated to a fully-interactive experience from the moment they line up for the ride when they’re invited to help "charge" the cable car batteries through hand-powered cranks. Riders will then board the cars from the boarding platform's disco-themed dance floor and hear the story of how the park’s minifigures designed and built the new Minifigure Skyflyer.

Once airborne, riders can look down on views of the park and Miniland, as well as participate in activities inside the pods like learning how to speak like a pirate or taking part in a sky-high sing-along.

To celebrate the new ride, Legoland has decked out a pair of specially-themed ski gondolas at nearby Belleayre Mountain. Fans who ride the gondolas between now and April — weather permitting, of course — can scan a QR code to receive a free kids ticket with the purchase of an adult ticket.

Legoland New York, which opened in 2021, is located just over an hour from New York City. Last year, the park became a certified autism center in which attractions are marked with a sensory guide and a quiet room is available for children with sensory needs.
