Sneaker Collections & More Honoring Hispanic Heritage Month 2024
More from Footwear News
During Hispanic Heritage Month, recognized from Sept. 15-Oct. 15, companies are acknowledging the pivotal contributions of Hispanic and Latinx Americans with special initiatives, particularly in footwear and fashion. These brands created collections of sneakers, apparel and accessories that not only celebrate Hispanic culture, but also educate and engage the wider community through meaningful designs. Each piece typically incorporates elements that are culturally significant, helping to highlight the rich heritage and ongoing influence of Hispanic communities in shaping American society.
In addition to product releases, some brands and retailers are celebrating through campaigns and philanthropy.
This list will be updated as more details and updates on specific releases and involved brands are announced throughout the months.
1. Macy’s Inc.
For Hispanic Heritage Month 2024, Macy’s Inc. is enhancing its commitment by hosting a donation campaign from Sept. 15-Oct. 15 to support the Hispanic Federation’s CREAR Futuros program. This initiative, which has helped nearly 7,000 Latino students nationally, receives a significant share of the funds raised in Macy’s Inc. campaign that has amassed over $2.4 million since 2022. Also throughout the months, Macy’s Inc. will promote Hispanic and Latino-owned brands.
2. Converse
Converse’s Hispanic Heritage Month 2024 “Mi Gente” collection blends tradition with modernity to celebrate Mexico’s Day of the Dead. The collection features vividly designed Chucks and apparel, capturing motifs such as sugar skulls. The line includes two sneaker styles and two T-shirts. The All Star Lift sneaker showcases cut-out graphics reflecting papel picado craftsmanship and carved midsole sugar skull details, with personalization options on the inner tongue. The Chuck 70 incorporates elements like candles and marigold flowers, acknowledged for guiding the souls with their light and scent, enhanced with OrthoLite cushioning for comfort. Through these designs, Converse honors past traditions and embraces cultural heritage with a contemporary twist. The collection is available on Converse.com.
