SINGAPORE — Lee Seung-gi, the charismatic South Korean singer and actor, mesmerised fans in Singapore during his concert at the Resorts World Ballroom in Sentosa on Wednesday (14 June).

The Dreamer's Dream – Chapter 2 concert, presented by video streaming service Viu, showcased Lee's incredible talent on stage, but that wasn't all he had in store for his devoted fans.

The 36-year-old artist also promised to release an album to commemorate his 20th anniversary in the industry next year.

As the crowd cheered with excitement, Lee addressed them, sharing his realisation about the significance of his upcoming milestone.

"I realised that next year is my 20th anniversary. When I was young, I thought that if it were the 20th anniversary, everyone would retire," he confessed.

"At first, I thought that after 20 years, there would be nothing more to do. But now I know that 20 years is just the beginning of a new chapter, filled with many things to learn."

Lee expressed his gratitude for the unwavering support he received over the years, remarking, "This year marks the completion of 19 wonderful spring seasons spent with all of you. Soon, it will be our 20th winter together. This journey has been meaningful, and I promise you that in my anniversary next year, there will be an album coming up."

He urged his fans to stay tuned and shared his excitement, assuring them that the album would be as "meaningful and remarkable" as their "time together".

Lee Seung-gi's upcoming album promises ballads and rock anthems

For his upcoming album, Lee revealed the possibility of featuring a ballad song composed by a member of Captain Planet, guitarist Lee Byung Ho.

Describing the power of a comforting ballad, he said, "You know, those moments when you're driving alone or on a bus, and a ballad song suddenly plays, soothing your soul. I hope the lyrics of this song will ease your pain and bring comfort, healing any hardships you may have faced in the past."

Lee also admitted his indecision between rock and ballad songs. However, he decided to experiment with both genres in his upcoming album, leaving fans eager to discover the musical surprises he has in store.

Lee enchanted the crowd with performances of his top hits, including Because You're My Woman and Losing My Mind from the series My Girlfriend is a Gumiho, in which he starred alongside Shin Min-ah.
