This coming June, local band Wormrot will be the first Singaporean band to perform at UK’s Glastonbury Festival, one of the world’s most famous music events.

The Glastonbury Festival this year will take place from 21 to 25 June, and will feature headliners Ed Sheeran, Radiohead and the Foo Fighters.

Wormrot is signed to UK label Earache Records, who will be hosting their own stage (Truth Stage) at the festival.

The three-membered band plays grindcore, a genre of music that takes inspiration from hardcore punk and death metal.

They are slated to perform alongside bands such as Napalm Death, Extreme Noise Terror and Steve Ignorant’s Slice Of Life.

Wormrot was formed in 2007 and has also performed at several other music festivals all over the world such as Netherlands Deathfest and Obscene Extreme Asia. They will be heading for a tour in Korea and Japan in October.
