A good night's sleep is one of the most important aspects of life. It can determine whether the day ahead is productive, it can help you think clearly, and, most importantly, it can influence your mood.

In short, it has the power to impact how you navigate everyday life. So, we would say it's a pretty big deal. And your mattress plays a key role in how successfully you sleep.

It's recommended you replace your mattress every six to eight years. When looking for a new mattress you should also choose the right firmness based on your bodyweight, sleeping position and personal preference.

Over the years mattresses have evolved, using science and tech to make your sleeping experience even more optimal. However, leading mattress brand, Simba, has just taken cutting-edge sleep technology to a whole new level with the launch of a brand new, state-of-the-art mattress promising to provide the "ultimate sleep experience".

From regulating body temperature to providing the perfect, pressure-relieving layers of support, this mattress has everything you could possibly need to achieve the "ultimate sleep experience".

Designed by Simba's sleep scientists and specialist engineers, they have used the body data of over 10 million sleepers and 70 prototypes to create the new groundbreaking design. Not just that, the mattress's personalised features means that it's designed to feel perfectly comfortable to everyone, no matter your shape or sleeping style.

With 13 meticulously engineered layers, the Simba Hybrid Ultra Mattress doesn't just have more layers and depth than any other pick produced by Simba, but it combines all-new cooling and breathable technologies that could be an absolute game-changer for your sleep quality.

As expected, it does come with a hefty price tag, the Hybrid Ultra Mattress will set you back £3,999, which is a huge initial investment. But can you really put a price on the restful night's sleep? We've delved into what makes this brand-new design one of the most exciting launches to hit the mattress world in quite a while.

What makes this mattress so good?

First off, it has 13 layers, each of which have been meticulously engineered with a different purpose (think breathability, responsive springs, cooling capabilities), but ultimately with the same goal — to achieve optimum comfort.

To put things into perspective, Simba's original Hybrid Mattress only has six layers. However, even with six, it remains one of the most popular mattresses on the market, with over half a million people sleeping on the £1,079 design.

The enhanced Simba Hybrid Ultra Mattress has many other new impressive features. However, one of the top ones has got to be a revolutionary ice cool top layer (known as FusionCool), which is a new combination of wool, bamboo and kapok - all of which are naturally breathable. It's thermo-regulating, which means it has the ability to regulate body heat for a truly transformative sleep experience.

Unlike any other Simba mattress, the Hybrid Ultra features two layers of proprietary 'Simbatex' foam, essentially a bespoke layer of foam which provides springier elasticity and 30 times more airflow than a traditional memory foam. It's infused with graphite, a natural heat conductor which also helps excess warmth and humidity flow away from the body.

It also has more springs (their technologists insisted on 8,500 springs, more than any other Simba mattress). 4,000 are titanium Aerocoil micro springs (which are Simba's patented springs) that sit in the upper layers. While you won't be able to feel them, they constantly compress individually in response to your body, providing ergonomic pressure relief.

The other 3,500 high carbon steel Aerocoil micro springs sit further down the mattress to maximise support and help airflow. Overall, the mattress works to mimic the shape of your body thanks to the ultra-responsive springs and an anti-roll-off support base.

As part of your purchase you also get a free mattress topper worth £149, alongside a 10-year mattress guarantee. There's also a 200-night trial, so if you decide the mattress isn't for you, Simba will collect it for free and give you a free refund.
