Signs at historic sites around Jersey have been replaced with new designs featuring more information on them.

Jersey Heritage said the signs had been erected at the Jersey dolmens, La Motte in St Clement, Grosnez Castle in St Ouen, L’Île Agois in St Mary and Portelet Bay in St Brelade.

The signs - organised by the Aspiring Jersey Island Geopark project - feature details about the monuments and have wording in Jèrriais, Jersey Heritage said.

Millie Butel, landscape engagement and Geopark development curator, said the old signs had become "very weathered" and needed replacing.

Ms Butel said: "[The new signs] bring together all sorts of fascinating information about the historic sites themselves and the surrounding areas in which they remain today, with the aim of sharing the complete story of each monument with anyone visiting one of the sites.

"Care has also been taken to ensure that the signage is as accessible as possible and we have worked closely with local access providers to achieve this."

Facts about surrounding wildlife and geology are also on the signs, along with local artwork, Jersey Heritage added.
