Shuib says Bubblebee employees' EPF issues are resolved

24 Jan - The Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) contribution arrears issue involving Bubblebee Sdn Bhd and its employees is considered settled after both parties reached an agreement.

The news was shared by Bubblebee owner, comedian Shuib (real name Shamira Muhammad) through a statement shared on social media, saying that Bubblebee had held discussions with the EPF officers and reached a perfect settlement agreement before the Sessions Court in Petaling Jaya earlier this year.

"Bubblebee will comply and execute all responsibilities in accordance with the terms of the agreed settlement. Therefore, we hereby explain that the issues have been resolved perfectly," the statement read.

Shuib also stressed that they will not hesitate to take legal action against any individuals who make or publish any untrue and malicious statements or accusations against Bubblebee after this.

"Finally, Bubblebee would like to thank the brothers and sisters for their continued support of Bubblebee all this time as a local Malaysian brand that aspires and strives to make a name for itself at the international level," he said.

Shuib and Bubblebee previously made the news after several employees and former employees claimed that the company had failed to pay EPF contributions for the past few months. Shuib then explained that the payment was made in a lump sum for a period of several months instead of monthly contributions.
