Shuib reveals why son wore red at his engagement ceremony

11 May – Shuib has recently dismissed speculations as to why his first son Uwais appeared in a different colour during his engagement ceremony to businesswoman Watie Hanifiah.

Sharing a TikTok video of his son trying the pants of his green baju melayu - the colour of choice for the whole family, it was revealed that Uwais was unable to wear the clothes tailored for him as it was too tight.

"Okay. It's settled, right?" he captioned the video, thanking his mother-in-law Siti Fatimah Suberi, who is also the stepmother of his late wife Siti Sarah for clearing the matter up.

The TikTok video itself was posted by Siti Fatimah, known to many as Makder, who also revealed that Sarah's father Raissudin Hamzah was also part of the group who came to ask for Watie's hand, dismissing the idea that Shuib was being disrespectful to Sarah's family for remarrying two years after her passing.

It is noted that netizens previously speculated about Uwais' appearance at the engagement ceremony, as he was seen in a red baju melayu, a contrast to the light green theme that Shuib, Watie, and the rest of his kids wore at the ceremony.

Many speculated that as the first born, the colour was Uwais' way of protesting.

When asked by the media, Shuib stated that he had all of the clothes tailored before Eid, and didn't expect that it no longer fit his son after two weeks of celebration.
