It is noted that the network made a similar move in the same month a year ago when the Philippines first announced its lockdown around the Metro Manila area following the pandemic, before returning to its usual live broadcast in June.

Philippine's Department of Health recently announced that there were 7,999 new cases on Saturday, 20 March, making it the highest one-day count since the pandemic began.
