Shirley Kwan arrested for assaulting hotel staff
22 Mar - It was recently reported that Hong Kong singer Shirley Kwan has been arrested under the suspicion of assaulting and intimidating a hotel employee at the Auberge Discovery Bay on Siena Avenue.
As reported on SCMP, the incident was supposedly caused by the employee's refusal to serve her due to an unpaid hotel bill of undisclosed amount.
Sources claimed to have heard Shirley threatened to chop the employee with a knife and that she had hit him in the chest before the police was called in to arrest her.
The singer was later released on bail, although she will have to report back to the police at the end of the month.
Shirley has declined to make any comments regarding the incident, while the said employee has been taken to the hospital for further examination.
This is the second time in six months that the Cantopop star made the news for controversial reasons. Back in October, she was rumoured to have attempted suicide by submerging into the waters near the same hotel.
However, she later clarified that it was an accident and that she had never thought about taking her life.
